Description

The National Capital Chapter of APBP – the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals – invites you to a one-of-a-kind event in D.C.: a Pecha Kucha Night on Biking, Walking, Streets and Cities.

Date: Thursday November 17th, 6:30 – 8:30pm

Location: WeWork Wonder Bread Factory, 641 S Street NW, Washington DC 20001 (a phenomenal space adjacent to SHAW metro)

If you are not familiar, Pecha Kucha is a global movement focused on engaging and concise storytelling. Think of it as a fast-paced TED Talk, where each speaker prepares 20 slides that automatically advance every 20 seconds. This gives each speaker just over 6 minutes to share their story.

The APBP Pecha Kucha Night presentations will be varied and unexpected. We have asked speakers to think big and be creative when it comes to topics. The only rule: stories must somehow relate back to walking, biking, streets, urban design or citybuilding. Speakers might share a story about a trip that changed the way they think about cities, wisdom gleaned from a neighbor or past mentor, how an unexpected turn in life led them on their career path,…who knows! Don’t miss out on this fun event.

Refreshments will be provided. Space is limited! RSVP at:

**Want to share YOUR story at the event? We have reserved two spaces on the agenda for WILD CARD speakers, who will be selected in advance from interested members of the public! Anyone is welcome to submit a pitch. Submit by sending 3-sentences on your proposed topic to Katie Mencarini. Wild Card speakers will be notified at least one week prior to the event.
